Official Facebook Statement:

We recently started testing the ability on desktop to upload a video as the Page cover. Once a cover video has been created, video will render when people visit the Page.

By making cover video available, we want to help you create more engaging interaction and drive more rich experience for your audience by letting you spotlight your creative content in one of the most prominent space: your Page cover.

The feature is still in early testing, but we expect to roll it out more widely soon. We appreciate your patience and support while we improve on this feature to bring cover video available to you soon.

In the world of photos vs. video, video has another leg-up with Facebook’s May announcement of cover photo videos for business pages. First rolled out to the big boys like Netflix and Netflix’s Narcos. To upload a cover photo video, you’ll need to have the update rolled out to you, but as of June 2017 – all the pages Target Rocket admins are showing the ability to enable a cover video.

  1. Go to your Facebook Business Page
  2. In the top left corner, click the update “Change Cover” (you should see a camcorder icon if the cover video feature is enabled)
  3. Upload your cover video

Facebook will select thumbnails from your video and you can select different thumbnail versions by clicking the right and left arrows. The updating of your cover video will be posted to your business page wall just like updating a cover photo or logo would be.
